Returning Walk
The Returning Walk is a rite undertaken by Sarykhun of the Altan Saryk upon reaching maturity.
Purpose
The Returning Walk tests attunement to the Saryk Cairn, not courage or survival.
Rite
The pilgrim departs alone, choosing their own route and duration. They must find their way back without assistance.
Cultural Interpretation
Failure to return is believed to indicate lack of proper attunement.
Outcomes
Those who do not return are known as Kharuun.
