Saryk Cairn

The Saryk Cairn, commonly called the Roadstone, is an ancient traveling monolith carried by the Altan Saryk. It remains at the center of the caravan during all migrations.

Description

The Cairn is a massive, teardrop-shaped stone that hovers slightly above the ground when in motion. Its surface is covered in ancient runes, embedded Seithr fragments, and generations of banners, cords, and offerings.

Believed Nature

The Altan Saryk believe the Cairn contains the accumulated lived knowledge of all past Sarykhun, manifesting as instinct rather than memory.

This belief is not formalized or debated.

The Pull

Attunement to the Cairn grants members access to a shared navigational sense known as The Pull.

Scholarly Theories

Outsiders have proposed the Cairn is:

No theory has been confirmed.

Cultural Role

The Cairn anchors rites, naming ceremonies, and migration timing. It is not worshipped, but trusted.
